Yea, Tiff. It's all over the news. For me, I would love having some more hours to trade. My blood always start pumping when the market opens, and I am always sad when it closes. Though being on the west coast it would require me to get up early for the opening bell.

Dear Tiff,
It is being discussed, if my memory serves me ( it often doesn't )
nothing would be done until post Y2K. Tried a few quick searches and even went to the NYSE site couldn't find doodly. In a sense the Market is open longer right now, what with Instanet etc. Not that I am adverse to change but so far haven't heard a valid explanation as to why this is needed. The brokerages are having so many problems
now updating information and accounts would be a total mess. From my perspective it would make sense to allow us easier access to trade foreign exchanges (Schwab for example does not allow that online) and get their houses in order before we all go darn near 24-5. Does anyone use a broker that allows foreign trades online? Also if anyone has an article we can read on the pro/con of Tiff's topic would be interesting to read. L & $$$ WCTI,, Barbara
P.S. found this link while surfin for Tiff info, we had talked about the tape, vol etc. awhile ago, this offers some insights:
