Trevor Quest, I just went short 400 shares of PPOD. I had no idea who Peapod even was before Tuesday afternoon. I got a cold call from a broker that I'm sure worked for a boiler room operation of some kind. He was pushing Peapod....really hard. I had to buy 1000 shares from him today...right now. I view this as a very negative sign. I did read up on the company.....and read all of the long and short posts.....and the company stuff. After doing so....I can't imagine how they will be able to make money....ever....new model, old model....any model. Two $11.00 per hour guys delivering $200.00 of groceries in a major city...in a company van......waiting around while people inspect their bananas.... is just too labor intensive. I'm sure the longs and the company will dispute this.....and that's fine. I have always believed that the power of the internet rests in the ability to take human interaction out of the picture....I don't see that happening here.....in a very low margin bussiness to begin with. I also believe that Pipper Jaffray may really like the stock.....but they may really like the idea of getting a piece of a secondary offering.... Although the company says or believes they don't need more money....But I think they clearly will. Sometimes coverage is initiated in order to get a leg up on some underwriting business. I'm not saying that is what has happened here.....Just that stuff like this happens. So......Based on these three factors......along with the lack of interest today.....even with a major press release that I feel may have been timed to support the stock........ I think the stock will come under some pressure fairly soon. I'm sorry if the longs here have a problem with these points......I bring them up to justify my position only. I have the feeling something is wrong here.......and feel that having a short position in the stock will be the right move. I wish everyone success in their investments. Good Trading to All, bg
