One opinion (below) - problems may be in the operational area, not in the investment area:

'.."This might give some investors a sense that there's a quick fix out there, but I don't see that happening," said Jon Kutler, president of Los Angeles investment bank Quarterdeck Investment Partners.

Kutler said some of Boeing's least profitable programs, such as the latest models of its 737 jetliner, are cornerstones of airline fleets and simply can't be abandoned.

"Boeing's real problem isn't where it's making investments -- it's operational," he said. "They need to look at their basic business activities and do them better." ...'
