"From Nokia's own site, the best 61xx has 3 hours talk, 60 hour standby, and weighs 4.8 oz."

Actually, the GSM-1900 6190 has up to *nine* days of stand-by time. With standard battery. From Nokia's own site. And product reviews.

So what you're saying is that Thin Phone offers little over three days of stand-by time without resorting to extra batteries. That's three days versus nine days. Spot the difference? I don't see what's the point of even mentioning the times that require the external batteries. That's a strategy no other handset manufacturer has even considered.

And that's 5 hours of talk-time for 6190 - if you're using the upper end number for Qualcomm, it would be fair to use it also for Nokia. So Thin Phone can reach 50% of the 6190 level here. The 100 dollar 5190 has the same times. Bottom line - Qualcomm can't match a year older GSM model.

Besides, the 3 ounce GSM-900 models will arrive in March from Motorola. Around the time GSM-900 market is offering a WAP model as well. That's the next frontier.

Caxton, I think we've made a break-through here. Now we only need to help you redefine "good guys" and you're on the road to recovery.

Dave... if you don't believe the 1998 market share data is telling us something - what will you believe? If US consumers don't care about stand-by times and don't care about colors and don't care about design... why are they hogging Nokia handsets? It's not like you have any special affinity to Finns - I can testify for that.
