3Com Completes Acquisition of ICS Networking BW - 02:36 p.m Feb 25, 1999 Eastern SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--3Com Corporation announced it completed the acquisition of assets of ICS Networking, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Valley Forge, Pa.-based Integrated Circuit Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:ICST). The cash acquisition is valued at approximately $16 million and will be accounted for as a purchase in 3Com's fiscal third quarter of 1999. The transaction was originally announced on January 20 and closed on February 18. This transaction provides 3Com with customer-owned tooling (COT) technology, along with intellectual property (IP) that 3Com can use to significantly reduce development time and lower production costs for 3Com's broad range of current high-volume products and for future products.
