Of the major booksellers, I think BGP has the most long-term upside potential. It's amazing how badly it's been beaten down: a complete crisis of confidence within the investment community. It's a great value play, much better than AMZN and even BKS. Someday, they will even figure out the Net game and become a major player.

The questions, of course, are when they'll win back the confidence of investors and when they'll emerge as a bona fide Internet play. It's hard for me to approach BGP as a short-term or even an intermediate-term play because it's so hard to anticipate when they will gain respect on the Street. But I think it's got much potential as a longer-term hold.

The downside risk, at least, has to be minimal at this point, assuming you're able to hold for any length of time at all. I can't believe this stock is available in the 13s. A steal!
