"OT" Last post on this subject. GPS uses standard satellite signal reception from at least three satellites to get a "good fix" on your location. DGPS, "differential" receivers use an entirely different signal similar to a loran or LF signal. Sattelites drift in their position in their orbits, making them inherently inaccurate for Military applications. A differential system uses this extra beacon which is stationary on the earth for a permanent fix. The differential receiver
processes all signals received and makes the necessary corrections to display a lat and long coordinate on your display screen that is accurate to as little as 5 feet with some high end products. J
