Also,do you long and short simultaneously in different accounts ? I was long/short Amzn in different A/Cs in the past(my largest Amzn Box was 500 shares pre-split). But not now, actually I don't have any short shares right now. But to be honest, I have "always" shorted Yhoo successfully in the past, 100/200 shares at a time, will try again. I have options(long and short) in different A/cs, Intc especially. My orig. Intc shares was(and is partially) with the full-service. Happy, nothing to "exds" yet. p.s. you do not sound stupid at all, you sound "sweet".
