Guardian Vests to Protect Philadelphia'sPolice Dogs

February 25, 1999 01:40 PM
DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--Guardian Technologies International Inc. GRDN , "The Life-Saving Company", a manufacturer of high performance ballistic protective equipment, Thursday announced that it will supply 18 bullet-resistant vests for police dogs operating in the K-9 Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Inspired by a recent fatal shooting of a police dog in New Jersey, a local benefactor will provide funds necessary to outfit the police dogs with this life-saving equipment.

Police departments routinely invest tens of thousands of dollars on these specially trained and disciplined dogs whose job often takes them into harm's way unprotected. Guardian's custom made bullet-resistant vests will offer these animals a high degree of protection.

"Since news of the actions of the local benefactor was televised nationally, we have received inquiries from other cities and towns across America seeking information about Guardian's ballistic K-9 equipment," stated Guardian's President J. Andrew Moorer.

Guardian Technologies International Inc., "The Life-Saving Company", is a manufacturer of high-end ballistic protective equipment for law enforcement, the military and the security industry.
