Valueman - Thanks for the notes on analyst meeting. In regards to the HDTV patents, they have several patents dealing with motion picture digital compression, using many techniques that are similar to those used in MPEG. Since I don't understand more than the basics of MPEG it is hard for me to say whether it is actually used in MPEG, but I did enough research to say that one of the Qualcomm patents (05107345) is one of the earliest heavily referenced image compression patents. FWIW.
