Allan,

GEMS

A couple days ago Ivan posted that he would be incommunicado today and tomorrow. He's gonna hate it alright.

GEMS -- EDIT

Allan,

I don't see the gap. It Este-catted (gapped a minor amount, then closed 18% lower for the day) in July. Este-cats behave less trustily than cats, and one that Este-gapped only 18% really doesn't qualify.
Am I missing some other gap date?

Ivan

EDIT: Oops, just saw the gap back in '96. Hmm. Let me get back to you; it's been a long time since I played a cat this old, if ever. Needs some thought.

GEMS/ALF

Allan,

I've been studying GEMS' signal history for a bit. Not many, given the amount of time it's been taking up space in the cathouse. I don't think there's much downside risk, but I have no idea what the upside target would be.
I'd be more inclined to go with ALF, which gave a good signal yesterday, in its 16th day as a card-carrier. I was following it on the phone from 3:30 pm yesterday, and didn't buy when the new ask of 7/16 generated almost zero activity; that, along with the general scariness of the market these days. Both look still playable.
