Looks like the long awaited tech correction is here. Why did you give up on your short position so soon? Even those of us who are bullish on industry outlook have been acknowledging that the sector was richly valued. You (and others) even convinced me to take some profits on NVLS at 72 3/4, thank you very much.

Michael, re >Gottfried and the bulls where are you ?<
We tricked you, didn't we? :)

Seriously: I feel we have a rate spike which spooked
tech investors. I don't believe the semi equipment stock
run is over, because they track SEMI orders. And those have not
peaked, I think.

Gottfried [I can't speak for the bulls <G>]

Michael, Gottfried and Tito, Gottfried and the bulls where are you ? I thought AMAT is going to 100 by summer and now this ! Nobody buying anymore?

It appears that AMAT is following the 1997 upturn cycle. The middle of May'97 AMAT had hit a high of $72 and then had a shakeout back to $60 and $58 during mid June before moving upward in a Pole of "X" tp $74 as it began its steps toward $100. During this year AMAT aready has hit above $71 and could but not necessarily, pulled back to near $58 while still staying well above the Bull support line. IMO, if, AMAT is following the 1997 up cycle after the shakeout then it will be in its position to continue its upward move.

Perhaps Tito can add to my observations.

Michael, you have seen why it is so hard to time AMAT. IT Ziggs when we think it will Zagg.

Just my $.02
