To all: This is from the BANY TREAD:

15 minutes of fame...

The founder of this thread, Ga Bard, is on the front on Section C of the WSJ today. The headline reads "Cyberburned: Saga of a Humbled Online Trader" It says he went from $20,000 to $500,000 to zero.

He said that he gained such a following on the internet that he felt compelled to teach and train others that asked his help. Performing remedial charity education of the lazy and less industrious sheep caused him to take his eye off the ball, which led to his downfall with the preferred stock of Midland Inc.

I have always encouraged participants to perform their own due diligence. Ideally, everyone should contribute what they can to the group's pool of knowledge, but nobody should have to do everything and nobody should get a free ride, unless they remain a lurker in the background.

It really torques my shorts when newbies show up and rip off a string of rapid fire basic questions, expecting the thread veterans to stop their line of thought and bring the newbie up to speed in one post so the newbie can make their decision on whether or not to buy their 200 shares.

Whew! I feel better now.
