Michael,

The article quotes a 1% growth in revenues for 1998, without any documentation.

3-5% becomes 1% in your eyes I see. :-)

So now you are asking for documentation, Michael!? You yourself provided bits and pieces from here and there and extrapolated to the entire industry. Well, ML at least has a legal fiduciary responsibility towards it's clients. You have none towards the readers of your posts.

My only comment, which I made earlier, is that Mother Merrill just can't put that - sign on the page when speaking of pc revenues.

So, since you know that you are right anyway anyone who contradicts you must be lying? I like your style of analysis. ;-)

If the Merrill guy thinks they grew 1%, he needs a lobotomy, another comment I made earlier.

:-) Relax.

I think either you or Chuzz read something wrong. The Merrill guy is definitely ( emphasis added) not calling for double digit sales growth. Single digits are his prediction for sales. He is calling for double digit unit growth because he doesn't understand what is happening.

I quote from the article:

He said PC industry revenue growth has slowed to 3-5 percent per year -- due largely to falling computer prices -- but market researchers are forecasting an acceleration to double-digit growth over the next several years.

Wishful thinking, Michael?
