If the SONY MemoryStick is a type of flash memory, one would think that at least some of its design might use SanDisk patents. If not, then SanDisk's proprietary technology is less valuable. I've tried to get more info from SNDK Investor Relations (Cindy Burgdorf) but so far have not been successful. At any rate, I think CF is well enough established to hold its own. To think that, just a few months ago, Kodak could have bought this entire company for the $250 million they spent on the purchase of a low-growth x-ray technology from Imation! Shows you what a bunch of moss backs are in control of EK. Out here, near Rochester, there are many Kodak retirees who are simply flabergasted that the company would squander its financial and management resources on conventional photographic technologies and in effect put digital photography on the back burner. I tell my clients simply that if they thought film was a good investment 50 years ago, they should buy the digital equivalent - flash memory - now. Art
