Uncle Frank: Sorry to mix up definitions. In my book DELL is clearly a "Gorilla" in the build to order hardware arena. They also have the potential to become a "Gorilla" in the fast growing e-commerce arena. Yet, if you don't agree with those comments you may agree that DELL consistently delivers "Gorilla" sized returns for LONG TERM shareholders <VBG>...

Talk to you soon.

Scott

Dear Unc,

Great find on the FTC article. Definitely shows the Chairman to have a thoughtful, go carefully, pro-marketplace side.

I can see that his comments may serve to reduce the risk of the most Draconian remedies being applied, should MSFT lose.

But I fear the stock will still get torpedoed if the decision goes against MSFT. At THAT time, knowing the FTC Chief's views would give me some comfort and confidence in going in to scoop up all the bargain MSFT I could stand, having some confidence that a breakup was not probable.

Your view is clearly more confident. Love to hear more.

Brian

<< Please read my earlier post, linking to the Bloomberg article about the Chairman of the FTC and his comments on msft and intc (and csco by implication, since all three are Gorillas -which means MONOPOLIES in Gorilla Game terms). Your timing in urging caution is 180 degrees out of phase with the direction we should take. >>
