Newbridge Is Selling Phone Equipment to Global One, Paper Says

Kanata, Ontario, Feb. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Newbridge Networks Corp. is selling network equipment to
Global One, the international phone consortium, even though it hasn't announced the contract, the
National Post reported. Alan Lutz, president of the No. 5 maker of networking gear, said the
international phone consortium of Deutsche Telekom AG, France Telecom SA and Sprint Corp. is
already taking delivery of Newbridge products. The paper didn't say what kind of equipment Global One
is buying, how much it's spending or why Newbridge didn't announce the contract last year, as
expected.

Kanata, Ontario-based Newbridge on Tuesday said it's fiscal third-quarter profit from operations
more than doubled to C$46 million (US$31 million), or C$0.26 cents a share, from C$17 million, or
C$0.10 cents, a year earlier. (NP 2/25 C4 www.nationalpost.com)
