From CBS Marketwatch report on Robertson Stephens conference:

Chip equipment company Novellus Systems (NVLS) expects revenue to grow sequentially in the first and second quarters, said Chief Financial Officer Robert Smith. He also said he expects the book-to-bill ratio to be greater than one-to one in both quarters. In addition, the company said that if capital spending in the industry is at 21 percent of revenue, investments will favor wafer fabrication equipment through the next few years.

I agree the cash would not be enough. I suspect an outright stock deal down the road. SFAM IMO is being accumulated.
