If you have it, it should contain the DOS mode CD-ROM driver which would allow you access to drive D: (assuming you're hard drive is not partitioned).

(If you still cannot access the CDROM drive at that point, let me know, and I'll show you step by step how to create the startup file with the proper driver).

At the C:\ prompt, type the following...(Make sure the Win95 CD is in the drive)

D:
CD WIN95
Setup

***

And follow the prompts...like before. Just let Windows overwrite the files when prompted.

*** If you have a couple of GB's of space on your hard drive, make a directory on your C: drive called Win95 and copy the contents of the same directory on the Windows 95 CDROM into that one, and run setup from there. Takes up more space, but is quicker and more efficient in the future.
