I'm sorry about your father's wife. that's really a terrible thing for them and all the family to have to go through. I hadn't realized you went there last weekend. How was your little brother?

They say people make love after attending funerals. I noticed that, like you, I ate a lot. MOther had died of colon cancer and couldn't eat solids for a year before her death. I found myself eating for her. Suddenly being skinny didn't seem at all wonderful. I put on about 15 pounds(when you're 5'2" that's a lot)but it seemed so silly to worry about weight and looks and money and things-- I think death does give much needed perspective to life. We have sanitized it, denied it, removed it from view, and while it may spare us unpleasantness, I'm not sure it's the right thing to do.
