Perry, >>>But if I was EMC I would have one eye in the rearveiw mirror watching Dell
Perry.<<<

In the Dell model, all they could do would be to re-sell someone else's storage products. As the previous post said, and I said in a post a few days ago, Dell does almost no R&D. You don't just pull storage products out of the air or out of the basement like EMC makes. En total, these products take billions of dollars of development to make ready for the market.

Dell is no threat to EMC unless they change their MO big time, and go into the development business, and that would take years to develop product that would compete. Re-sellers don't make much of a dent.
