just don't think that you're convincing anybody of anything.
Actually I'm well aware of the fixed positions of the players. I write for my own amusement as well as trying to persuade those whose minds may yet be open,.
50 years of progress
I think the women's movement I know is more like 25 years. The current movement I mean (not the right to vote movement). I remember well the transition., I don't agree with all of it. I think the current situation will illustrate the pitfalls of some of it to the women of our day. I do support the equal opportunity portion. I think some of the rhetoric from 25 years ago was more anti-man (lesibain if you choose) than pro-woman. If anything good comes of this it is that the women's movement (which is not monolithic) will learn to distinguish between inept courtship and sexual harrashment.
Clinton is anything other than a self serving,....
I think you have to look to Clinton as a transitional figure. Not perfect as a WWII conservative and not perect as a Y2K role model. He is just was was needed as a bridge between the old fogies and the Spice Girls. Clinton is caught between being a stong heterosexual model, which was the normal in his formative years, and the sensitivity now expected of a man. To my mind he is handling it as best he can. Criminal, Predator? You're just full of s**t if you beieive this. He has acted as he does now, as much in line with the normal behavior of America as it is now, and as it was then.

The bonus is, he's a darn smart guy who is making our time, the best time.
