T has been trying to buy AOL for over a year...

If it happened it would shortchange AOL and its shareholders in my opinion... why settle for a buyout price in early 1999, when you have potentially the "Microsoft of the internet" for the next 5 years...

Also, AOL has it's biggest deals and agreements with AT&T's biggest rival, WCOM. (as the article said)

This is just something that has been circulating for a long time and its "news" in an otherwise dull, sideways market.
