Another Darwin candidate-

February 4, 1999 - A 39-year-old Charlottesville, Virginia man
attempting to wash his clothes died tragically after a series of freak
accidents. Samuel
Randolph Strickson was trying to force 50 pounds of laundry in his
washing machine by climbing on top of the washer and pushing on the
clothes in with his
feet. But Strickson accidentally turned on the washer, lost his balance,
and got both feet stuck. As the washer began its cycle, Strickson tried
to free himself
by thrashing around. But then he hit his head against a shelf and
knocked over a bottle of bleach that spilled on top of his head and
blinded him. Next
Strickson vomited because he had swallowed some bleach. After heaving,
the man tried freeing himself and knocked over a box of baking soda,
which
startled the dog and caused it to pee. A chemical reaction occurred
between the urine and baking soda -setting off a small explosion. But
that didn't cause
as much damage as the high speed spin cycle that spun Strickson around
at about 70 miles per hour and caused him to strike his head into a
steel beam
behind the washing machine, killing him instantly.
