Disciplined reflection, sounds great! Do you have a regimen that doesn't involve sequentially numbered pages? My best work comes out of immersion in the data; confusion follows; weeks and more spent sorting it out. The process can even be time-compressed, although the literally mystical experience creates continuity problems later--never yet accuracy, but problems in explaining my ideoyncratic terms and obtaining external validation of facts and people. My method could hardly be called disciplined. It is rather a subjugation to the illogical and a desperate search for meaning as a way out. Not will, but survival.
