When I play catch with Lizzie, she gets this gleam of satisfaction in her eyes that I think means that she knows she is doing a good job. I have a tendency to hit the oak trees and the picnic table, but she can catch the ball on the bounce. I think she wants to work, she doesn't really approve of this life of idleness. I praise her for barking at strangers who come to the door. I don't think anyone is going to sneak in unnoticed, except the neighbor's cat. We have to put her downstairs and shut the door when we let a stranger in. She gets a lot of love, I let her sleep in the boys room, and they take turns sleeping on the carpet with her.
