Best post on Dell in awhile .. great effort. There are many companies to run & hide from .. DELL is not one of them.

Wow. Touched a nerve huh.

I am not arguing that Dell is not a great company. You obviously know Dell inside and out and know a great more than I do. Regardless, the question remains - "Is Dell a Gorilla?" Again, I will say:

Dell is not a gorilla.

"GORILLA A company that controls its market because it has a discontinuous innovation, one that is not compatible with existing systems. The market is in a hyper growth stage, and they control the architecture. There is a high switching cost to using some other company's product."

Does Dell provide a discontinuous innovation? That's the key question. Convince me of this and I will be wearing a "Dell is a Gorilla" t-shirt tmrw...and then I will also consider investing in the company.

I don't even want to get into switching costs.

Now, let's carry on a civil discussion...without you telling me that "I wish I had owned the stock for the last few years."

Please.
