Sling,

I'm not sure that it was specifically stated that the Dual Mode phone was going to be Internet ready, but it's a good assumption. However, GSM Internet doesn't seem to be in the cards, per my interpretation:

the Internet capability of the i1000plus will make use of the packet-switched data format of the iDEN system. Note that we have already been told that the 'WorldPhone' will do GSM in Europe (and the U.S., if the roaming agreements are put in place), but will not have D.C. (dispatch) capability on the system, as it too is unique to iDEN.

"Some folks call it a Kaiser ...." ?

Rob

As a sidebar on Iridium. Just as a data point. Just got near, around an Iridium phone at work. It may have world wide coverage, but you must be outside to use it. It won't work inside any building. And at ~$7/min! Yikes!
