first of all Analyst do not "fly across the Ocean" to look at a plant,
the Brokerage houses usually use their local Analyst that are familiar with the area and laws of the country...meaning that to research a company in Ireland they would have sent their affiliates in, probably from London...and btw there most probably will not be any buy , hold, accumulate....recommendation before they see the 1st contract....a stock-recommenadation is never given by a big brokerage house without actual money (contracts) being in place, people like you would sue the brokerage immediately if things went south.....
About your complaining about "hearsay" on this thread..WHY DON'T YOU CONTRIBUTE SOME FACTS?????????

Yes, I think you are.

"Buy-side" analysts work for their own private money managers, mutual funds, investment firms. They don't "publish" reports available to the street or to the public. Their conclusions are available to their own company's portfolio managers and investment advisors.

To make this perfectly clear, since the earlier posts gave you "no light whatsoever", if a Putnam or a Dimensional Fund analyst visits any company, you are never going to see their report. Period.
