The reason...the hope, TIA .... would be to attempt to take advantage of the present level of market enthusiasm for net stocks, and raise funds for both AXC and the companies involved in the IPO.
The most straightforward way for AXC to directly benefit would be a shelf offering at a price much higher than the present one.
