BKS

I'm happy! Two weeks ago, I was hoping to get a pre-IPO shot at BKS under 32. This week I've been able to begin accumulating under 30.

When will we learn more about barnesandnoble.com? The two concrete pieces of information I've seen on timing are:

(1) In the 22 February 1999 news release where BKS issued its earnings warning, this statement was offered:

"Consolidated guidance for the company, including the results of barnesandnoble.com, will be discussed within the next thirty days; guidance including the acquisition of Ingram Book Company will be issued after the transaction has been approved by the Federal Trade Commission."

(2) Dow Jones Business Wire article from 31 January 1999.

Headline: "Bertelsmann To Float Internet Bookseller End Feb - Report"

Lead Paragraph:

"GUETERSLOH, Germany (Dow Jones)--German media giant Bertelsmann AG (G.BRT) wants to float its joint-venture Internet booksales unit, Barnesandnoble.com, at the end of next month, German magazine Der Spiegel said."

If you're interested in buying BKS, look out this morning. There's some volume chasing the bid down right now: the selloff isn't over. My feeling is that BKS is offering a great opportunity, though, for position trading. Just have some patience in finding your entry points.
