Port Replicator
A Port Replicator is a holder for a notebook computer. The notebook kind of plugs in and it makes the connections for the monitor, keyboard, mouse, audio, and serial available to the back. It usually also has a platform for the monitor. This way you can put the port replicator on a desk, hook up a monitor keyboard etc and then just slip the notebook in and out. The notebook is much more like a desktop when plugged in, but to travel you just need to pull out the notebook and go.
