Toms take on the CPUID..
www5.tomshardware.com
"Last but not least would I like to give another ton of credits to Andreas
Stiller, c't-Magazines CPU magician. He managed to write a software that
can re-activate the serial-number of Pentium III, so that it can be read
without the user's permission. Read all about this on c't-Magazine's
server. I guess that Intel is in serious trouble with this serial number now, I
wonder how long it will take until they will be forced to recall all the Pentium
III CPUs that are already produced and shipped. "
