No, I would not buy AOL if I were Armstrong. T is percieved as a growth company again by acquiring TCI/ATHM. Local access will be their primary focus, content/Internet access is also a focus. Buying AOL will put T in debt for a long time, not a good stategy. The best way to do this is to beat your competitors in their own game, not buy them out. T has the ingredients to do it. Should T buy IBM also so that they can lock up the computer business. Buy HWP and SUN also. Now that would be lost focus.
