El: I was wondering when you were going to ask me that. I hope you can understand that my predictions for 50 by 4/1 were based on the assumption (yeah, I know - "assume") that EP and EM were not going to pull any bullshit again. Since I don't really know the whole story at this point, making a prediction now would be useless.

Just feeling a little shell shocked right now and very bad for CPQ holders.

Isn't this the exact day (last FRI of FEB) last year that CPQ issued an earnings warning after the bell? If I remember correctly EM had said on Tue of that week that everything was fine and then the warning came Fri after the close. EM had been asked in the Tue meeting how FEB sales were and he replied that he didn't have the numbers yet and wouldn't speculate (which implied that the accounting department had to close the books for Feb sometime in Mar and then he would know how sales were in Feb). He mentioned last year that the first quarter was backend-loaded too. Deja vu all over again???
It would be a shame if a year has gone by and I haven't gotten any smarter.
