El: The similarities with last year are pretty scary ... CPQ traded as high as 36-5/8 on 2/11 after recovering from the DEC purchase announcement on 1/26 - it was at 29 then. Analysts were very positive. Then, all of a sudden, on 2/26 SSB downgraded the stock based on the inventory problem. Lucy Painter reited her BUY the same day. On Monday March 2nd, Earl made his famous "January was competitive, but we're still comfortable with Q1 estimates" speech. Lucy downgraded CPQ the next day. Then 4 days later CPQ warned after the bell. K
