Gary, There is a difference. I worked research on the buyside and most of my peers simply take the co. line and whatever b.s. Street analysts feed to them. They basically decide which Sell side geek to believe. Since I didn't believe any of them all the time, I had to do my own work. Good career decision, but bad for my tennis game. <g> I have really only seen two organizations where the buy side analysts are good enough to do original research, Waddell and Reed, and Fidelity. Some mutual fund cos. don't even have analysts any more. <g>
