Here's one example. LSI has 255 million of cash and a book value of 10. VLSI has 289 million of cash and a book value/stockholders equity of 12.50.

The addition of VLSI would INCREASE LSI's asset base ratios. Of course the problem still exists about how to make those assets produve a profit. I'll stick to the accounting stuff and let somebody else figure the other out.
