But why would you want to? AOL doesn't have the expertise to run it, Armstrong doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd want to be second-fiddle. And if you add other stuff, the market no longer considers it pure internet and would drop the stock down to earth.

That is why I mentioned Phibro/Salomon this morning. Instead of buying T, AOL gets taken over, and just as Salomon was taken over by Phibro but in the end ran the show, so too could AOL come out on top in the end. Who has the more dynamic management? And it would be a heck of a lot cheaper than trying to buy T... <g>
