Dear Scumria: Yes, agreed, and that is what we have. AMD, Cyrix, Idti and INTC. One has the better product, the better management and thus the better financial resources. All due to competition. You know in competition there is always a winner and a loser. If you dont allow that then you dont have competition you have REGULATION and that is very very bad. Have you heard how the FTC wants to make the minutes you spend on the Internet LONG DISTANCE? Yes, they are wrapping it in a lot of mumble jumbo about between carriers but guess what--WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS? jdn

Hey Scumbria, There is competition in the MPU market. It is getting harder and harder to convincingly state that Intel has a monopoly in this market. Amd is selling more CPUs via U.S. retail than Intel! You cannot punish Intel for what they are able to do, but for what they have actually done. Intel's case is that they are not technically a monopoly so anti-trust laws pertaining to monopolies do not pertain to them. There is little question that Intel is better positioned in this free market. That is more due to their ability to execute and market well than 'anti-competitive' practices. Intel will be vindicated, I am willing to wager, and the FTC's credibility will be further eroded. Good day, sir. Chris
