Chuzz, I read most of your posts and they are always well thought out, but please, today, don't quote kelley!!!! Jim's "analysis" of Compaq is never more than "it seems." He never gives one clue of how he comes up with his "analysis." And he was the worst on predicting Compaq's earnings last quarter, so he is the last person to listen to. And since he way buying DELL at around 100 I don't think he has much of a handle on conditions over there either. I'll assume you're not over here to gloat since Dell stock is down 30% in recent weeks.

Chuzzlewit,
Great posts from a true Dellhead. It was my belief as well that Compaq was always up to its old tricks. However, a 31% drop in a stock that isn't exactly overvalued does look tempting.
I agree with E.P.that the Y2K will increase pc sales this year, and I think this latest round of Greenspan/interest rate panic is pure crap. Therefore the question becomes if this poor stock has been battered enough. Keep in mind that unlike in the case of the rich Dellheads, Compaq still remains the mainstream PC play on WS.
