Well, those who are selling at 15 because they think the CEO will torpedo this deal do not understand the background. Al wants a high price more than anyone, but IMO he is going to turn down this price but continue negotiations. Philips is trying to get VLSI cheap, and you can't blame them for that. They are also trying to get a deal done before anyone else can step in. Now is the time for our CEO to truly work for shareholder value, and he may surprise some people. Al has numerous personal contacts throughout the semiconductor industry, and we can look at the list of other possible suitors: Intel, Harris, Lucent, Hewlett Packard, LSI, Maxim, Ericsson, etc.. Jim
