Niles conference call. He sounds really laid back. Niles is saying we're resetting expectations, this is seasonal and not cyclical in his opinion.

he is not only one in market for a new computer that waited past 4th Q and is waiting to get the new Pentium III or some for P II prices drop a bit when 3's come out.

Y2k is not as much an issue in his opinion.

Spending will be pretty constant this year as we go into 2000.

Ibm Compaq HP market share issues, affecting DELL and suhffling going on.

He had no ratings change.

March demand will pick up for PC as P III roll out.. and/or lower P II prices.

CPQ said business is fine in enterprise business.

Niles said CPQ will benefit from Pentium III demand.

(Please don't hold me to exact quotes on any of this)

we are in seasonal decline and then will pickup. inventory situation is not as bad as in the past. thank god

CPQ said not a lot of pricing pressure. Orders picked up mid Feb.

<<it was a "big deal" for Dell's stock price!>>

Not as big as it's been for Compaq. 31% drop vs Dell's 26%.
Get your stats straight.
