I was on a conference call with Dan Niles of BancBoston Robertson Stephens at 800-857-7113 this afternoon around 1:30 P.M Pacific Time, and he still reiterates $ 60 price target for Compaq by year end, despite today's profit cut forecast and a massive 74+ million volume selloff. Compaq was this low when I last bought August 1998.
Now it is back to that level and I am buying a bunch more Monday!
This is a great buying opportunity!

Carol: An important thing to remember is that although a lot of us here watch the market and trade all day, we are about in the middle of the food chain as far as info dissemination goes. All those people who read about this in Barron's, blah, blah over the weekend will probably be selling on Monday morning. I would expect Monday afternoon will provide a bounce though .... unless, of course, we find out more bad news (INTC warns or something, God forbid) before the open.

I'd say a few Hail Marys, but I don't know the words.
