I have two simple estimates for VLSI price projections base on revenue and EPS. Under these senerios VLSI is a steal at $17. I would hope that any deal that goes through is at least for $22 or higher.

1Q99 Rev 145.636 EPS $0.08 Price $16.48
2Q99 Rev 146.054 EPS $0.08 Price $19.62
3Q99 Rev 160.326 EPS $0.17 Price $18.85
1Q99 Rev 145.636 EPS $0.08 Price $16.48
2Q99 Rev 151.054 EPS $0.10 Price $21.33
3Q99 Rev 165.326 EPS $0.18 Price $20.05

P.S. I know that 1Q99 is a little high based on current estimates, but the value represents what could be reasonable in valuing the company.

Totally agree with you. It is an admission of failure and
lack of confidence to sell out at this price.

I really do agree with you about VLSI. On the other hand, I've been with CPQ for close to two years and finally today sold what little I had left in disgust. There really are better places for my hard earned $s. (Now that I've sold it, the last roadblock to riches by CPQ longs has been removed).
