The only reason an inclining market will turn into a bear or declining market is when the overall fundamentals are changing in our economy such as interest rates climbing, governmental problems, earnings nose diving which can be caused by many other national or international influences.

Until we see a definite change and a good reason for it we must assume we are in a short term pullback if the market goes down for several days and the upside potential is better the lower the market goes short term. During these short term corrections I will get more aggressive off the bottoms expecting a larger move UP and possibly a huge move over a period of a few days in which a lot of serious money can be made.

I watch many indicators during the day which tends to wear a person out but it is important to be aware of sectors, individual stocks in their perspective groups, how the news effects the trade, the price, volume, etc.. How they relate to the day, yesterday, last week, etc.

This is how charting can get very complicated and has its place in trading but most of the time charts rely on a repeat of history which, in my opinion, in a changing and volatile market is not enough to preserve your capital sufficiently.
