Man, than's heroic, Coby. At some point in my life I decided I wanted to write off the formalities and unpleasant personalities in my bio- and social "family", and I/we just did it.

I frankly don't give a shit WHO people are. They either rate or they don't.

If the President steps in front of me in line, I'll blow his head off. (Alex?)

BTW, I might be tempted by heart to care about the kid. And be willing to work on him, for his sake.

I wonder about this warm feeling we're supposed to have for parents, whether they deserve it or not. Why should an adult child suddenly feel obligated to care for a parent who never put him first? It would seem to me that the right to filial love has been forfeited by the choices they made, their own decision to abdicate the parental role in order to fill their own needs first.
HAving kids is definitely not a way to meet your own needs.
