According to market research firm PC Data,

Was it in the same article and you did you just fail to quote it or was in in a different article where it said that the US retail market was only 10% of computer sales?

Hm. Someone from PC Data was on TV Friday night and stated that Intel was doing great at the higher end which is a lot more profitable. I wonder who will have better earnings.
