Oliver, With constellations 2,3 and 4 the number of shadows will dramatically reduce so coverage in cities and even in reinforced concrete buildings [which have windows] and cars will greatly improve. So Globalstar would detect that there IS a signal in the hotel room and the usual absurd hotel charges or GSM roaming charges or even normal 47c per minute GSM charges in Europe could be avoided.

With only 48 satellites operational, there will be shadows everywhere in a city and these will be moving, so people would have trouble using a Globalstar handset. This is because there would usually only be one or two satellites in view. Sometimes none, changing by the minute.
