Mark, Do you want to delete mail without it opening or do you want to delete it from your POP3 server before you have to download it?

"One way would be to delete email without opening would be to use the control key combined with the left mouse button." guess what? it worked! very concise instructions, too. :) i knew there had to be a way. but i still gotta' figure the browser shouldn't operate this way. the only drawback to the method you've outlined is that it sends 2 pieces of mail to the trash. but that isn't a big deal. i am pleased to finally get this answer. thank you very much. mark
